Back to normal office life. Nothing changed except the usual unsuspecting early birds. It’s been quieter lately. I have not seen the noisiest workmate Ismael since I came 4 days ago. I have no clue on his whereabouts, of course not fired. If he had been fired, I should have heard about him being mentioned during office gossip time. We talked few weeks ago, that’s when he informed me of his plans to take a vacation in a neighboring country.

If he managed to cross the border and not heard of, there is genuine concern for this individual. He is a renowned ‘Office womanizer’. He is also a staunch supporter of Abaluhya Football Leopards club (AFC Leopards). I spotted him one time doing gymnastics on a busy road highway; missed by a whisker by an over speeding bus. This guy sometimes come close to being nuts. He was lucky though not to be noticed by the CEO, am sure he would no longer be on payroll.
As to the changes at the office, there is one noticeable thing. No workmate kept his/her weight constant including me! I wonder what happened. We need ‘Slim Possible’ here. Lauren changed almost everything. She changed her office, hair style and of course her weight. She is our office fashionista. She knows how to put everything in place and tiptop. On the other side of the department, the person we run to when we are in financial trouble, Whitney, retained her office but not her kilos. She must have slashed few pounds but still looking good. Big boss Jessie added at most 2 pounds but the overall winner is MC Skills, the guy who spins like no one. He seemed to have gained 5 pounds! And everybody else…considerable change.

I have to move my mind away from weighing scale to something else.Think about other company businesses. In one of the company gossip time, I was informed that the company was relocating. This was before I went to two weeks leave. From my quick calculation, I also had to relocate near the proposed office location. I don’t want to overspend but cut down on expenses. It is very heart-breaking to me now that it appears to be no plans to vacate. Everything operates normally in our current premises. I spend 12,000% more money daily on transport than I use to after being ‘swindled’. I was not spending even a cent in the previous location; I walked to work. I am very much hurt.
There are many new faces in the office nowadays. I have to create time to know them individually. One of these fine tea breaks would be an exact timing. But looking around, there are no longer smiling faces. My colleagues hardly smile like in a few months ago. We have an international artist; singer-cum-song writer, Jaysam. He released his new single ‘Christ in me’ (C.I.M) ft Mc Skillz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEmSm03Lkgo (Check it out!)recently but still does not succeed in putting back smiles on the faces of fellow staff!Something went terribly wrong somewhere. Maybe the cause is social-media.They introduced firewall on Facebook! No more Facebooking; no more company interactions on Facebook and no more uncontrollable laughter that comes after a crazy update.
There is no more Facebook but it’s going to be somebody’s birthday soon. Definitely the moods would change; birthday cakes and pizzas to rekindle the lost happiness!
